B9 RS4 roller rocker failure

Curiously my own 2020 EA855 EVO RSQ3 also had two roller rockers fail trashing camshafts in the process which after multiple repair attempts under warranty saw the complete engine get replaced under warranty - multiple metallic fragments were lodged in oil galleries and were eventually found to be scoring the main-bearing journals.

Seems from the video that Audi know about the issue on the 2.9V6 (the needle roller bearings are too small in the original version and upgraded to much larger bearings in the later cars), one to watch. Interestingly the owner had specified 'no road test', can't think why. :bash:

They say in the comments that the owner was not happy about his car being in the video. They obviously didn't even respect those wishes.

So how reliable is the information they are putting out?

It's not somewhere I'll be taking my RS to anytime soon.

That's a bit concerning. New engine £18k in parts, £24k inc vat and labour.

I wonder what the cost would be to get the pre-emptive work + any cleaning done. And ideally not by these clowns as we've seen their modus operandi re: test drives at the very least.
