I was on here a few years ago when i had my RS4 B7 and now I'm back, for the last 9-10 years I've had a E92 Monte Carlo M3 couple of F80 M3s One non comp pack and one comp pack and now ive just brought a 2018 RS4 Carbon Edition. I had a few problems with my first RS4 and it put me off the brand tbh but i love estates and ive tried to wait for the M3 Touring to be available but i can't so i took the plunge a brought a RS4
With prices the way they are i should of waited but i couldn't lol
The car spec isn't to bad it has sound pack and pano roof, i was really looking for one with DRC but have struggled to find one, well one within my budget, but there doesn't seem to be a lot of them with DRC.
Does the DRC have problems like the B7 had and is it a must have option

Having been searching for a pre FL B9 myself for months now, the market is pretty light on heavily optioned examples. There are tons of the Sport Edition going, which for the life of me I cannot work out the pricing of (£60k+), given that the only unique feature is alcantara seats and a limited fixed set of options. There have been a handful of fully optioned models appearing though, incuding DRC.

Having owned a fully optioned (ex Audi UK press car)pre FL B9 RS4 I'm going to suggest that you might perhaps be careful for what you wish for.
In my head I think an Audi RS should be a little bit raw/edge of scary if not treated with respect - certainly prior to the RS4 I'd run a a 340PS RSQ3 which was exactly that and I fondly imagined that a 450PS RS4 would be more of the same - and it wasn't.
The B9 RS4 is a fabulous car with DRC - supremely competent at everything, no matter how hard you drove the thing it never felt like the ragged edge of a terminal disaster was being approached and the culprit I suspect was DRC. DRC is very clever - no squat under acceleration, no dive under braking and no roll on cornering so for the most part no sensation of pace or driving pleasure for the pilot.
A bit of me wonders if I'd been less obsessed with spec and just bought a car without DRC the experience would have been different.

I picked up a pre-FL car with high spec a few months ago. Think it's one of the 'launch' cars with alcantara steering wheel and shifter, and the anthracite matrix inserts.
DRC does still have its issues; I've had a leaking rear shock changed under warranty. That being said, the range of capability it gives is phenomenal. Dynamic is firm but well damped, and comfort is genuinely comfortable but still great body control.

I would but it gone back to the dealership for the second time since i picked it up at the beginning of the month, I've drove it twice and both times were driving it back from Manchester after picking it up, its back there again now and looks like il be getting out of it, back to BMW i think as i had the same scenario with my B7

FFS - Sorry to hear that. What's the issue?

After a month of owening my RS4 and it spending most of it back at the dealer, they fitted 4 new shocks as one was leaking and done the other 3 as good will, new windscreen, new tyres it came back to me on saturday and the driver got out and said there's a passenger light failure warning light on and the passenger head light was full of moisture, so enough was enough they agreed to refund me,
So Ive found another car a carbon edition again with good spec, has most options pano roof, head up, but it hasn't got sound and comfort. I really wanted Bang and Olufsen but the rest of the car looks bang on
Whats the standard sound system like? has anyone compared it to B&O

Obsoletely no idea about the sounds, but good to hear you've got a replacement. Hope it works out this time round.
