Finally Collected & Brake Squeal

Picked up my RS4 last Friday and loving it so far. My right foot is itching, as need to be sensible during break in.

It is however not got much storage space. Tried to add storage pack last min, but when i added it, the car had already been locked in for build so no changes!! grr..

However getting brake squeal at low speeds, which is rather annoying. Anyone else having the same issue? I know it doesn't affect braking performance, but rather annoying non the less. Not sure if it will go away after a few more miles or if it needs to go back to the for some additional grease on the pad ears or shims?

Mine does the same at low speeds, still doing it 3k down the line. Previous RS3 was the same so I'm assuming "they all do that Sir". Brakes are the worst thing about the RS cars imho.

No just standard Steel Brakes. Will leave it for few weeks before asking them to look at it.

Go out and bed in the disks and pads hard braking from 70 to 10 about 8 times try not to activate the abs this will sort it

I had some squeal up until about 3.5k km at low speeds - now it seems to have stopped. Compared to my GT-R, where it sounded like a train full of pigs being slaughtered, it is however negligible.

Looking great more pics please...
No brake squeal here maybe that is why it spent 10 days in QC!

It'll wear off in time.

My first b8 did it, and it bloody did my head in to be honest
Audi replaced discs, pads and callipers under warranty and that sorted it
My B9 doesn’t squeal at all if that helps, so it’s not a design feature

I did the Bed in method as Brooner suggested and this seemed to cure it -Thanks Brooner! Low speed squeal appears to be gone. Will see if this lasts, if not will be a call in to the Stealers.

I'll try upload some more pics tomorrow.

Glad that cured it it is usaly cased by a build up of pad material on tge disk which usaly happens in slow stop start traffic
So if you commute the squeal will return
So just repeat the method

My RS5 is still squealing 5k miles in, tried everything, warm weather seems to be making it worse!

Bought an RS3 when they first came out and it did the same, as said in the end Audi replaced discs and pads, can’t be bothered taking it in though.

Mine has come back again, but yes repeating harsh braking sorts it out. I will maybe wait a few months and then get Audi to sort it out.

Anyone have comfort and sound pack and know how to do the stupid boot kicking thing to open it? Doesnt seem to work for me. Maybe need to do full rain dance or something?? :bash: :bash:

You need to swing your leg a back and forth as if you are kicking it, took me a while and had to refer to the manual. Obviously convenience key need to be activated in the MMI. Once I had worked it out I never used it again!
