Past experience on my wife's A1 and the RSQ3 has been no. My dealer asks on booking in for service activities if the car has been modified and I declare what's been re-coded and they aren't interested beyond saying that a factory software update might overwrite the changes and that's not a worry. I'll be having that conversation again soon as the red beast has a tyre pressure sensor leaking that'll have to be replaced next week under warranty.

Never had a problem.

I've coded out headlight washers and when they've gone to MOT it. Audi were happy to order up parts and replace under warranty until I told them it was just coding.

Ok thanks. I’ll check in if I can borrow one through the AU forums I frequent. If not I’ll need to buy one and get an Android phone.

12 days with no car coming up 😥as I travel, I cleaned it for my return!

Cheers

Mtm do an OBd single use plug in for the port to switch your start stop the opposite way round. It’s €99. I might buy it. I think it links to your vin, so you can reuse if Audi flash it. I could ask for a group buy if enough people are interested.

Does the MTM dongle need to be permanently attached?

Nope. Put it in, wait till it flashes and beeps the. Take it out. If they flash it you out it back in and do it again. Only works for the first VIN you link it to.
All this is from my discussion with MTM in Germany.

I have an ODB11 and as far as I'm concerned, it doesn't work with the stop start function of a B9.
Maybe it's something I'm doing but I have not been able to find anyone who has used ODB11 successfully on the stop start of a B9 (and I have tried to find such people) ...... unless of course anyone knows different.

This is why I think I may get the single from MTM and skip the whole OBD11 thing. I used and OBD tool on my old M6 and it was ace, but Audis are too locked down, so it may be that I just do this and nothing else.

When you say switch your start-stop the opposite way round - what do you mean?

I do wonder about the merits of meddling with Stop/Start - the fuel saving features must be interlinked at a code level, i.e. I'm sure we have all noticed that when you lift your foot off the gas and the car is in overrun that the gear display goes blank as the transmission free-wheels, It (allegedly) turns off engine cylinders and can cut the engine before you have even stopped though I can't say I've ever noticed it. The kind of stuff has lots of complexity attached - the electric power steering still works even when S/S is active. I'm not totally sure I'd enjoy a conversation with the dealer service reception and the wicked gleam in their eyes as one revealed having bought a €99 gizmo off the internet and trashed the car's systems. But if there's a volunteer I'll hold your coat???

Should not be a problem talking to service reception. All we are talking about is the equivalent of pushing the stop start button every time you get in the car, (which is something I do)

It just flips the function of the switch so that it is defaulted to off, as opposed to on. It won’t alter a ythi g about cylinder deactivation or anything else. But MTM are t a small outfit, and I’ve not seen any complaints anywhere about it.
