Edd’s Track bitch.

Well some might know this already. I caught a deadly Virus a month ago from Ilya,Dougie and Laurence. Went to see them at Rockingham while they were having a play on track and I got too close to them and caught the bug again.
So what happened next was I had to find a cure. Ilya helped by directing me to a forsale advert on another forum and within a week I had it bought and back home.

Please meet “Babe”. I’ve called her that as when the time comes I shall be having her wrapped in Pink (see pictures” as these were my race colours back in the day when I used to race RC cars.

When I get a chance I’ll do a spec list but for now some pictures.

Lots and lots planned. Which I’ll list as and when it has things done.

It already had when I bought it.

AST 5100 coilovers.
15in Team Dynamics PR1.2 wheels
New Brembo front and rear discs.

Since I’ve had it I’ve done.

New cambelt, dephaser, water pump and all related belts.
New K-tec resonated cat back recessed exhaust
New braided Goodridge brake hoses.
PBS front brake pads
Castro’s SRF brake fluid.
Engine oil and filter change
Gearbox oil change
Light weight door cards.
Most of the rear stripped out.

I did Bedford Autodrome on Tuesday and lasted 1 session before the clutch decided to burn out. Schoolboy error as I was a bit too impatient to have a play. So now I’m waiting on a secondhand gearbox which I shall be having completely rebuilt with a Quaife LSD and I’ll be having a Group N clutch and lightened flywheel all fitted when box is built. Next will be some bucket seats, full cage and some harnesses to keep me safe. Oh yea and a set of Toyo R888s.

I've wanted to do one these for about 2 years now. The price you can pick these up for is madness.

From memory they've an expensive cambelt job which means at a certain mileage they are dumped on Auto Trader for pocket money!

I gave £1900 for it. The AST coilovers are that new so in effect I got the car for free. The cambelt is a big job and generally about £6-700. But TBF even if someone said it’s been done when you buy one I’d still get it done for piece of mind. The short time I ripped it around Bedford was so much fun that I can’t wait till it’s fully prepared to have some damn good race time. I passengered in the grey one in the pictures and let me tell you the man is a mad Russian and he can pedal that French beast.

I used to part own the largest model Shop in the U.K. until my business partner blindsided me and we closed it down in 2006. You may know it. It was called AG Models and Big Boys Toys on Mucklows Hill, Halesowen.
