Hi everyone this is my car thread. Since I bought this car I've been driving round looking like this

it has a few minor faults but gives me somthing to do in my spare time.

After reading a few posts about our loved cars being stolen, sometimes just for the front seats, and how hard it is to replace them I've decided the first thing I'm going to do is fit a ghost immobiliser. Anyone else had this done ? Or suffered there car stolen?

Car looks great. I’m also looking into security so will watch out for updates. I have been looking at others as I don’t know if the ghost one is hype or as good as it says it is. Does the B7 come with an immobiliser as standard?
Cheers

From how it was explained to me, you pay £10 for a phone app and the car will start if you have your phone with you, if you don't have your phone with you a code is put in by turning somthing like lights on n off, indicate left on and off four different switches like this and the car will start. Even if they have a key they can't start it without the code or your phone. It's not cheap but it's harder to replace your car!

Found a really simple and cheap alternative. A flush electrical switch fixed in a secret place out of sight breaking the power to the start button, even if they get ignition the engine won't turn over. Also fitted a metal cover to where you plug your diagnostic in with star bolts that are unique to your set, problem is they have to be carried in car out of sight somewhere in case you break down. I'm no mechanic I hope you understand what I'm saying.

The guy who fitted the ghost system on the rs3 last month said to watch this space regarding ghost and the b7 platform . They have something in the pipeline .

Just gave her a bit of a birthday. As I'm quiet local to MRC I had a full engine service, both diff oil changed plus gearbox, all four wheels aligned and a dyno run health check. Next on to do list is carbon clean, upgrade head unit. And some bushes MRC picked up on that are due to be renewed through age.
