Faisal’s R8

Time to start a new thread!

Feeling very fortunate to be able to get this car - a 2013 R8 V10+ s-tronic

I’ve ummed and aghed about a new car for a few months, having considered more practical alternatives such as a C7 RS6 or B8.5 RS4.

My head told me the above options made more sense, but my heart said R8!

I convinced myself with some ropey man-maths, had considerable help from Surrey Sam (who came to view the car with me - thanks a lot mate) and that was that!

First impressions (on a relatively short and icy/snowy drive home) are that 1) it sounds glorious, and 2) the power is bonkers compared to what I’m used to!

In terms of plans - first thing will be a paint correction and gtechniq coatings to paint, glass, interior and wheels.

I’m thinking about changing the wheels (of course).

At some point - I’d like to retrim the steering wheel in charcoal alcantara, and put in some buckets.

Possibly a headunit upgrade too.

But mostly, plans are to drive it as much as I can!!

Lovely, nearly bought one after my B5 was stolen but the misses was expecting! Still have the R8 itch. It will look awesome after a detail, dont go with gtechniq as its widely considered the weakest of it type. Gyeon is much better, watch forensic-detailing on you tube as they do great tests.
