W8PMC's & PhilT's Clio 172 Cup - projectNUTS

We call her Nicole aka projectNUTS (Nicole U track Slag)
It all started as man maths. We decided that we could buy and run a Clio for less than we spend on track with the M5 and GT-R. It was also an opportunity to have something a little slower in a straight line but potentially faster on a lap of some of the tracks, oh and a bundle of laughs too
We bought Nicole in April 2016. She'd already been tracked and had her interior stripped; all that was left inside was the dashboard, stock seats and stock steering wheel.

She's a cracking little car, definetly went well at Snetterton.
The E36 which I own with Marc has spent it's time since then in and out of workshops having stuff done but she's ready for her next outing shortly.

The car came with 3 different tyre makes, the front were a pair. They got some abuse and coped pretty well. We've now upgraded and I'll get some pics up soon.

Will post up the mods when I get time. The man maths aren't too bad, we've definitely had a load of laughs in her and that's priceless

She's lovely. A little tinkering required with the Geo & she'll be as good as perfect.
Far more fun than chucking a big heavy road car round the track & significantly cheaper. As Phil says in the 1st post, the whole project including initial purchase price, all upgrades & first years running costs will come in less than the cost of 1 set of tyres, pads & fuel in either the M5 or GT-R for a years track day action, so we're already saving money. Also a giggle doing a whole track day on one tank of fuel (perhaps just over) which costs £40-50 whereas in either of our road cars we'd get through at least 2 sometimes 3 tanks of fuel at close to £100 per tank, per car, per track day.
Rarely does man maths work, but so far so good.
