I saw your car downs at the Classics meet near me in Earls Barton on Wednesday night, JC had brought it down (they did say they had asked you!)

Cars done to a great spec and the wheels actually look even better in the flesh than in pics, I'm also now fully sold on the exhaust so you've just about officially cost me money haha
Sprint Blue B7 RS4 - Black/Titanium optics, Anthracite OEM 19's, De-resonated OEM Exhaust, TTRS FBSW, MRC Stage 2 De-flapped manifold, Full Carbon Clean, MRC Stage 2 Re-map, 431.5 BHP...... must...not...spend....more...

Thanks for the kind words Toby!

You won't regret spending the money on the exhaust - best thing I've done to the car.

So, couple of updates.

The last time I saw my OEM undertray, it looked like this:

Image

Well actually, that shows it still clinging onto the car. It was actually like this! Flimsy plastic piece of <beep>...

Image

Now, thanks to JCWF, it looks like this!

Image

Much more like it!

As requested, they retained all the vents. They had to replace the plastic ducts for the brakes, and the oil cooler splitter, as they were damaged. They've used all the original mounting points, and managed to keep it nice and high to retain clearance over speed bumps (tested it and no scrapes). It's nice knowing I've got a big sheet of aluminium down there now.

Straight after picking the car up from JCWF, I bombed it over to Bristol to pick up my latest eBay purchase; a titanium coloured Thule dynamic 800 roof box. I shouldn't like a plastic box this much, but I think it's perfect!

Excuse the state of the car, hasn't been washed since some time in July while I was on hols and the car was at JCWF:

Right, better finish my service station dinner and get my arse home!!

You need to find some speed humps and check out the sparks!

There's one b@stard narrow hump near home that occasionally catches on the wifey's golf, and used to get previous cars I've had; drove over it last night at 20mph with no contact whatsoever! Image

This undertray might actually have a little more clearance, and help me get around south London faster!

Rw@@dy - yep, they said they can make more. Best to check directly with them on price...what I paid isn't going to be representative. On one hand, mine involved a lot of time trial fitting etc as it was the first one, and they needed a couple of parts that had been damaged. On the other hand, they looked after me as a return customer and because of the bit of publicity they've got from my car (show, YouTube vid, me singing their praises on a few forums etc)

You might have more luck asking JC Weldfab.

He he. Typo? Or you need your morning coffee even more than me Punz! :D

For reference, to put back a plastic tray, my local indy quoted me £434.29! That's to replace all my broken bits with OEM Audi parts, inc labour.

Faisal's RS4

Post by FaisalJ » Fri Aug 26, 2016 6:32 pm

Going to the Wings & Wheels show tomorrow so decided I'd swap over the coolant reservoir, as the old one looked beige! I didn't realise quite how bad until I put it side by side with the new one. Finished off with a Porsche cap.

I put a Porsche oil cap on too, but it's a really tight fit, will swap it for an R8 one.

Gave the engine bay a quick clean with all purpose cleaner for the last pic.

Job's a good un.

Nice! Makes a big difference for a little outlay.

The R8 cap gets quite tight too i.e. can be quite difficult to get it to move out of the fully closed position.
Also, is the cap in that photo fully closed? The R8 one closes the right way round.
