For me it's a no brainer, £200 for the same tone but a bit noisier. In fact when I did it to my RS4 it improved the tone too.
I have my exhaust valves disconnected so they are always open which is an improvement. Once I have the mod done I have the option of reconnecting them if it is too loud or droning but I doubt it; combined with the res delete it will probably make it sound awesome but not over powering or too attention grabbing.

Mike... You're making an already noisy RS6 even louder... trust me when I tell you it's attention grabbing lol

It does sound very tempting!
It's odd some days I think the standard OEM sports system sounds great (with vales disconnected) but other days seems quiter for some reason. Also seems louder with Windows and roof shut than open.

However

I can hear pops etc just not as loud as I wanted....

I'm used to a crazy sounding Porsche which had everything cat back removed and had tiny back boxes!!

Believe me anythings tame after that car.

Have you guys ever try riding in the back of your car? I did it the other week (wife driving) and the noise level and the cracks and pops on the overrun sounds fairly loud compared to what your experience from the drivers seat.

I have the standard OEM exhaust.

Niclas

Mike's Panther RS6 Performance thread

I've noticed the exhaust can be slightly quieter for a minute or two after turning the car on and immediately setting off (even if it's fully up to temp).
The car is very well insulated, even more so with double glazing (what the bloody hell were you thinking ticking that option!) so it does quieten down things considerably. I kept saying mine wasn't very loud and my girlfriend was getting sick of hearing about it so grabbed the keys and drove it past me... It immediately shut me up, it's deafening. I've lost count of the amount of times I've scared an old person, made a baby cry or made a group of girls scream with the pops and bangs . After you've chopped the middle out...take it for a tunnel run and if you're not impressed, I'll buy your damn Akra!

I didn't pick double glazing, it was standard with the facelift cars after complaints of excessive noise in the original cars.

Lol, yes if you have a facelift car you will have it too. Oddly it wasn't very well advertised as a standard feature.

It's only double glazed at the front on the facelift - and I have also found that when you sit in the back the exhaust so much, much louder. You can barely hear it in the front seats, but in the back....

I have my name down for one of these, so I've had all the info sent to me that's available internally. As standard in the UK it's been confirmed that the car comes with "20-inch alloy wheels with black front brake calipers featuring S logo". The 21's are an option for which there are supposedly (although not yet confirmed) 3 styles to choose from inc the PE style alloys.
