:) i highly recomend taking them off anyways
besides you have to drop the gearbox either way regardless of the downpipes.

The quick method doesn't work with the stock pre-cats :audibash:

My RS4 aka VINNIE thread

Finally new wheels arrived.
Went with Fondmetal 19x8.5
Supposedly only 9.6kg each vs 12.5 for stock wheels :)
And wrapped them with mpss 255/35/19...
Now testing time:)
Also ordered OMP 4 point racing harness. Modified the end links to be all quick release so I can quickly change them at the track... Quite happy with the results. I find the original seatbelt don't hold you enough when throwing the car in corners. Only did drivers side for now as a test. But since all fits perfectly, will order another one for a passenger. Didn't think the wheels would suit it but actually quite like them. You definitely need to wrap the window trim with the blue and black theme going on.

Sack off the factory buckets and swap them for a set of Recaro Pole Positions. They are much lighter, will hold you in better and you can keep the OEM seats in storage looking nice.

You look like you're on your way down the same route Sonny did a few years ago with his saloon. Coilovers, corner weighting, arbs, weight reduction, R888's etc for track and Ring trips. In the end though you need a track car too, Haha :beerchug:

Wheels look awesome

You know that recliners are not designed to accept harnesses and will collapse in an accident? Harnesses should only be used with fixed back buckets

I did not know that.... Thanks. Why would they collapse? Are they ment to do that? Do they collapse using normal belt??? That's kind of scary...

RS4 buckets are not like normal recliner car seats that should not be used with harnesses. They are proper Recaro reclining buckets. If you look on the Recaro website they state that the recliners are suitable for use with harnesses. It might be an idea to fire an email to Recaro to ask, given the the RS buckets are an older model seat.

See the below link, I've always been aware of not using harnesses with recliners and this re-affirms it.

Hang on... Do those harnesses clip into the rear seatbelt fastenings?

Go back to the standard belt and a CG lock before you kill yourself in an accident

Yes. All clips I made clip in to original buckles. I had to add another buckle at reared well

So they are not anchored anywhere just connect to two seatbelt buckles in the back and anchored in the front? Honestly mate I wouldn't bother unless they are a hired properly to the chassis, not worth the risk and the RS4 isn't the right car to be welding harness eyelets too really. Just slow down a little.

I use all original buckles and fixings. It takes few min to put them in. The main reason was that they hold you in the seat much firmer than standard. Planning to only use it at the track. Original belt is still there.
I am going to research this a little more. But they actually sell complete kit like this for rs4. I just made my own for half the price... Don't really understand what issues you guys are having with this set up...

Fair enough buddy. Just wasn't sure how safe it would be 'if' it was needed in an accident.

Well it is as safe as the original equipment if not stronger since I use 4 points rather than 3 points. My only concern now is that seat breaking thingy... Will try and find some answers direct from Audi...
