I could be wrong but... doesn't a smaller intake increase torque lower in the revs and larger is better for HP higher up. That why its designed to open up later in the revs.

Having it open all the time will decrease torque lower down.

Maybe you are right! But by how much does it reduce it tho?? To be fair it is probably only noticeable on the dyno.. Besides who ever keeps this engine in low revs anyways??? Mine lives around 5-6 anyhow :) that sweet spot lol..

Less air is required at lower revs so having it open all he time would also mean you are sucking in hot air unnecessarily socit opens for the second half of the rev range when more air is needed and the cars speed should be cooling the intale slightly.

After a bit of research and a lot of hard decision making, decided today that I don't want to go with aftermarket head unit. Especially the Android one.. So decided best option is to retrofit the OEM Bluetooth unit. since 98% of the time what I need Bluetooth for is receiving and making calls, I decided that would be the best course of action.

Not the cheapest but works flawlessly.!
Thank you to Hazzydays in St. Albans.

Later I might upgrade to latest RNS-e G3 unit but for now this and Map update to 2015.
+ will get a few 2gb card from eBay to keep my music.
I mean, in the old days we used to carry cassette tapes and later CD around. Now I will have a bunch of SD cards in my library in the car:)

Did you experience any problems with the bad engine mounts?
My car makes these wild knocks when going from idle in low speed on a high gear and push on the throttle. Also when i shift gear and release the clutch to fast something knocks the car forward. My car has fail codes on engine mounts aswell and audi thought it would "probably" be that.

yeah thats the symptoms.

i suggest swapping them for 034 mounts including Torque mount:
gearbox mount is optional.
i got direct from States with 48 delivery.
https://store.034motorsport.com/motor-m ... s4-v8.html
https://store.034motorsport.com/resisto ... s4-v8.html
https://store.034motorsport.com/snub-to ... i-rs6.html
https://store.034motorsport.com/transmi ... 4-rs4.html

There is NO noticeable vibrations increase with street density.

Also, its a Royal PITA to swap them youself. i spent 2 full days.
partly because i did not have the right tools and had to modify, partly because i have massive hands and the space is limited under there.
for the torque mount its a bumper of job, including headlight.

goodluck!

I wonder if there is no increase in vibrations because your old mounts were already knackered.

Could be the case. But there is no vibration after the install either way. There was none before and none now.

Thanks for the info pal!
I have a friend working at audi who can do it after hours with the proper engine lift and proper tools. Would you say its an easy fix with that in mind?

Also, whats the big difference between the 034 and the oem ones? My friend can get the original audi engine mounts for 180eur (both).

It's very very limited access under there. The top nut is very hard to get undone and than tighten up again. Really don't see how a lift would help lol. I mean if he is an Audi Tech than I assume he knows how it's done. I was just following a DIY I found and my instincts. + don't really know what special tool he would use?? I made a stuby ratchet from an old 13mm ratchet. Just cut it in half and that way you can reach for the nut between the headers.
034 is stiffer than OEM. Read what they say about it on their web site. + it will be highly unlikely it ever fail again.

OEM mount is electro hydraulic and will vary the stifness in response to what the car is doing. The O34 ones are just solid mounts.
