Bucket Seats

Post by stumpyrs4 » Thu Oct 01, 2009 12:44 pm

Can I ask why Recaro Pole Positions seem to be the replacement seat of choice, as opposed to say Sparco, Momo, or similar?

Appreciate you are buying 'Recaro quality', but surely Sparco etc can't be bad either?

Presumably the other flavours fit Audi's...?

I think because they were a factory option - take a peek in the GmbH brochure.

Sparco's seem to be the seat of choice for chav'd up Corsas!

Found this at lunchtime, which is why I asked the question about PP's...

Appreciate brand loyalty, and they are quality anyway, but they're more than double some other 'apparently' equally quality seats.

presumably you can get brackets for them for the RS4 too, so why not?!

I would!

Can't understand why someone would do this to something like an audi unless it's being stripped down for a track day / race car.

The cloth (instead of factory leather) and big bold sparco lettering in white detract from the quality of these cars IMHO.

I appreciate it's only a seat and you can always put the originals back in, but for everyday use ... I'm not so sure.

Appreciate the stenciling /embroidery isn't particularly tasteful...

What if they were re-covered in leather as has been done with Pole Positions? Would that change your mind?

Each to his own I suppose.I've got the Recaro P.P's(Nige's old car!).I like the fact they were a factory option. They look great and 'right' in the car. Also they are the comfiest seats I have ever sat in over long journeys.
