If its anything like the C7 RS6 then there is an auxillary radiator which takes its feed from the cold end of the radiator, then uses that to cool the transmission oil. So, it should be cooler anyway. Worth double checking which rad you are checking though. Our cars have a multitude of radiators for coolant, engine oil, ATF etc..
