What spoils your cab are the <beep> white seats but I suppose you like them maybe try some Metro seats might sell then
With you on that one, not a fan of the supersport seats.

Graham, you can price one up to your exact spec on the configurator. Doesn't take long and gives you a good idea of all the options / configurations.

Drove one today. Dealer had got their demo in at the weekend so I took it out for a drive. My observations are as follows;

1. Engine. Nice to hear the 5 pot again. They have certainly turn up the volume with this one. The car I drove didn't have the sports exhaust so no cracks or pops but nice blips on up shifts. Pulls well and a quick car if not in the same league as the C7, but as quick as the B8.

2. Gearbox. Stronic as good as ever, shifts are super quick and smooth when in comfort mode. Also works well in manual mode and shift are better than the C7 in that respect.

3. Ride and handling. Suprisingly, this car had magnetic ride (but no sports exhaust!!!) and the ride was good. You can easily drive this car in dynamic mode on the road and although firm nowhere near the B8 levels. In terms of handling it is still a nose heavy car but not as obvious as the old model. The car had the optional 255 tyres on it and gripped very well. Car felt quite lively through the corners although I didn't push too hard. Steering felt a bit light for me so I drove it dynamic mode which did add a bit more weight. You did get good feedback but like all Audi's it's no 911 on that level.

4. Looks. The one I had was in Mythos black with the Alu Styling Pack and titanium wheels. I would definitely think twice about having a black one, look a bit plain to me (sorry, no offence to those already ordered). You would need to look twice, three times to even know it was an RS3. I think a bold colour suits the car better.

5. Interior. Nice interior, no up to C7 standards but good. You sit a little higher than in the C7 or B8. It had the supersport seats which were supportive but lack a bit of lateral support (needed to extend the seat). The steering wheel is really lovely with the alcantara trim. Every thing else is the usual Audi switchgear.

Economy wise I did a two part test. Firstly I drove the car for about 15 miles at a steady pace. I reset to the economy as it was showing 17.2 and got it to around 32mpg. The next 15 miles I gave it some right foot in sports mode and overall I averaged 25mpg.

To summaries, good car, would give it 8 out of ten. The only thing I cannot get my head around is the price. Forget £40k, this is a £50k car and with no or limited discounts at present this is one expensive car. I'm of the option if you can live without the cracking 5 pot engine a well specced 3 month old S3 and £20k in the bank would be where I'd be going.

A few pictures of the car

Nice review.

Agree with most of it.

Though the one I test drove (and the one I started up and rev'd in the showroom) also did not have the sports exhaust and I had it popping and banging on the overrun (and giggling like a girl with the salesman) the entire test drive!

8/10, wow, generous I'd say

as for no discounts, give over ... give it 3 months and the finance deposit contribution will come out.

Audi are after volume volume volume, and these cars are very margin rich for them.

I took one for a test drive on Sunday. It is a lovely thing, and although the looks are a bit marmite -I personally like the understated approach...

The one I tried was Daytona with Super Sport seats (no buckets available as an option presently :audibash: ) -it also didn't have the sports exhaust but I had it popping and banging -especially on the over-run.

Love that 5-pot - and that is the thing that swung it for me... -Have spec'd one up to c£47k (gulp) -just waiting to see what the figures come out like.. :boots:

Just got back from the Autostadt @ Wolfsburg and they had a Sepang blue one in the Audi pavillion. Such an awesome colour in the right light.

After sitting in one, I officially want one again. Will probably arrange a test drive in the coming weeks but doubt I'll end up buying one yet. Just too bloody expensive for what it is. Thinking I'll wait a year or 2 for prices to fall.

With you on the colour RSphantom, definitely needs to be something special colour wise for it to stand out.

I took the wife to see one at Leicester yesterday. Pretty sure she'll be ordering one when she gets back from her trip abroad and test drives it. Also been offered a test at Doncaster.
The one they had, has the sports exhaust. They weren't allowed to fire it up in the showroom (email from management explicitly telling them not to), but they sent us a short clip of it fired up later. Sounds awesome, I'll try and post the clip up later. The B8 also looked good in the flesh and had her thinking which she preferred for a moment but the RS3 won the battle when I told her that the 3 is quicker off the line. My B7 looked a bit aged next to the C7 though. Hmmmm.

Any ideas as to what sort of finance contrubution we will see with these? I am very tempted with one and it will be towards the end of the year i would be looking when we have finally moved!
