FASH + Lies, lies and more lies !

Well the 2 has just had its' 160,000 miles service (a bit early but the head gasket sort of forced it a tad) and lo and behold I've found another little thing that was missed over the last 16 years of Audi servicing.
As some may be aware my 2 had a FASH until I bought it and decided that it was time for a bit more care to be taken over the work being done, needless to say at its' first service at RK it turned out that on the last service (only 6 months previous) the oil filter hadn't been changed (date and the fact it was rusty were a clue) amongst a list of things that seemed to have been overlooked. Well here's the classic at this service they've just replaced the original fuel filter, I suspect this is meant to be changed more often than 160 k ?
I might donate it to a museum (1994 it is) or just stick it in a bin.
2 morals to this story
1 Check that Audi do what they say they do !
2 Audi aren't to be trusted.
All I can say is I'm glad Porsche did such a good job of bolting the old girl together in the first place.
Cheers
T

Yep, agree - I have a UR quattro (88 MB) - I wouldn't go near an Audi main dealer with it - FASH on these age cars is no sign of good care - far better a respected specialist has looked after it.

I've been a bit more fortunate. I live in France and my main dealer does a good job. They asign the same man to the job every tiime who has worked on RS2's since they came out - even if it's a simple service. So, for the moment I can't complain!! :D

There had to one somewhere who was asleep in the "how to con loyal customers" part of the training program.
Bless 'em.

Must have been more than one person asleep them because my RS2 has always been serviced by the supplying dealer and I have no complaints.

It must have been a boring bit of the training, a bit like the changing filters bit .
I only wish they were all as good, but knowing a few people in the trade over the years sadly main dealers can be a bit hit and miss (mine went through more than one without works done).
Hey it could be worse, a Ford dealer forgot to put oil back in the engine of my mothers Orion (that dates it) on the first service and had to fit a new engine after it siezed.
Ho hum

That didn't make comfortable reading, Mark.

The Newbury Audi boys drooled over the car and they charged me a fortune and they conned me.

I wonder if Neil (the owner previous to me) had this problem with Listers of Coventry where he had it serviced all those years?
