Happy bunny!

Post by trevithick » Mon Apr 19, 2010 8:14 pm

Finally got the old 2 on a rolling road (people who use another forum will know) and after 15 years and 144k it is still kicking out 310bhp (448nm)and that was on V power.
Now I've never had a health check on it and I suspect maybe a boost leak or two fixing session may fine some of those 5 horses but I'm pretty chuffed.
Quality counts you know.
Cheers

Well done T. You see how we looked after it for you? All those careful miles with no scary-arse driving seem to have paid off :D

If you look back in the history you'll see that MRC did a full check on the turbo pipe work when I was custodian. It wasn't that long ago. There were two slight leaks, one either side of the turbo. One they fixed then and there and the other some days later when the parts were in.

The only guidance MRC gave for using the car with a known leak was to not use the revs. This is because the turbo, with insufficient back pressure, can run away with itself and over rev.

It wil be interesting to see what you find but I'm sure not lugging all that beer around in the back would have the same effect as five extra horse power.

You must have a go next time we meet, since the new shocks and sorting all the little problems that Audi didn't it drives like a dream (no yes the word no knocks from the suspension anymore).
