Faulty seat adjustment control

My drivers seat back adjustment control is not working, although the other control (that angles the whole seat) is. Had a poke around under the seat for any loose connections but could not find any. Has anyone had this problem? I imagine the same fuse is used for both controls so imagine that is not the problem. Any suggestions appreciated!

I had a similar problem and found that one of the soldered connections at the back of the switch had broken.
It was a while ago and I can't quite remember how I got to the rear of the switch, but I do remember taking the seat out of the car as there was another issue with the seat runners which i fixed at the same time. However you probably can re-solder it with the seat in place.

removal of the seats is very easy. There are plastic covers/stops on the rail to prise off, and an allen bolt at the front centre. Took me 10 minutes. The switch pops out the front to get at the wires.

had similar on my passenger recaro/ the switch is "eased out" using small flat blade screw driver, it is usually the contacts carboning up inside the switch, unfortunatly the recaros are soldered as opposed to using a connector block, i used another switch , and resoldered it in situ , fiddly but possible .... but i had to use a rather heavy duty soldering iron. or you could try some aerosol contact cleaner?
