Rear diff oil replacement

Post by MattyB1 » Sat Dec 31, 2011 2:47 am

As I'm a big believer in regular oil changes, the RS2 will be having its intermediate oil change in Jan. At the same time, I'm also looking to change the rear diff oil.

Has anyone changed the rear diff oil, any recommendations in terms of oil and the process? Seems to be a bit of confusion on the S2 forum regarding capacity if anyone can confirm?

Hope you all had a good XMas, and Happy New Year for tomorrow!

Just to clarify this, seems that its just over a litre, as you fill it until to the bottom of the fill plug (ie, until it starts to spill out!)

In terms of type, seems that the best stuff is Millers TRX75W90 or Fuchs Titan Sintopoid SAE 75W90 full synthetic - although Oilman recommends the Fuchs 75W85.
