I've just booked myself on a track day at the Bovington tank track in Dorset on the 7th of June.
It's a 6.1 mile circuit and is wide enough to get two tanks round so should be an easy circuit for beginners.
If you're interested here's the link, you'll need to be quick as the places a selling out rapidly:

Ill let you know how it goes

Well I hope you get in! Looks like it could be great fun - not too sure about the 'run-off' areas though (check the video) - im sure all those tress and pillars will be fine for tanks....

I've been around the Bovington track countless times in both tanks and Land Rovers and you're right about the run-off areas - any mistakes could be seriously costly! It's not designed for high speed driving either but should be fun if you're careful.

Im coming from Bristol.
I have a dilemma... My tyres have about 2mm of tread left. Now, do I replace them now, or do I use them up on the track day and replace them after? Obviously I would prefer to use them up and replace them after, but im wondering if there may be problems with that idea...

Just dont drive it too hard and you should last at least one session. I was down Bovington at the weekend, you should have a ball. Be carefull on the corners cos of the dust and the huge concrete blocks designed to stop tanks.

Track tyres then...
Should be just fine, still looks dry & cloudy, maybe some sunny spells. I'll probably have my semi-slicks on.
What time will you be arriving?

Everyone's got to be there for about 8, so that's what Im aiming for. Although 2.5 hour drive from Bristol, I dont fancy a start that early really! So might find a B&B or a campsite. Anyone know a campsite near there?
Still in two minds about what to do about tyres. I'm thinking that they are about on the limit now - will be closer by the time I get down there, so will almost certainly be gone by the end of the day - then Ive got to get home on potentially dodgy tyres. Can anyone hazard a guess of the tyre wear to expect?

Great day,
Will post some pics as soon as I get some time (I've got a lovely pic of a M3)
Great meeting you Ben - I'm not so sure my car is running sooo short on power now...
