Hi Guys
Having been to Le Mans on 4 occasions including this year with my son I was wondering if anyone fancies a group event next June? If you haven't been before trust me its a fantastic event and watching cars at night blasting around with flames spurting from the exhausts and break discs glowing orange is a truly awesome sight, Im not sure if this group has done this before so wanted to put the feelers out early doors to gauge interest.

I have always used Motor Racing International (MRI) as they provide a full drive package and are extremely organised and helpful. This year the package was as follows.

Depart on the Friday - 06:50 euro tunnel crossing from Folkstone to Calais
Blast down to Alencon.....get nicked for speeding.....happens every year to someone in our group and this yeas as we were in one car we kept up the tradition,,90 euro fine and on me way :knob:
3 nights B&B in the Ibis Hotel in Alencon (about 40ks from Lemans) There is also 2 Campanile hotels that they use but these were booked up. Ibis was tip top!
Friday night drive in to Le Mans centre for the drivers parade....lots of supercars on display and also all the drivers and scantily clad
Entrance to circuit - bar coded ticket so you can come and go as you please
Dedicated parking space in the Blanc car park which is les than 5 mins walk to either the main entrance or the Blanc entrance
Grandstand seats in La Gache which is in the start finish straight and opposite the pits. Great view and also see pit action etc
Excursion to Arnage corner which is one of the fastest corners on the circuit
Depart Hotel on the Monday (so Fri, Sat & Sun night in hotel)
Blast up to Calais and aiming not to get nicked again. Its the journey down that all the cops are mincing around waiting for the brits to be on a high speed sortie
Depart at 18:30 on Euro Tunnel back to Folkestone

Total cost PP is dependent on how many in car and for my son & I it was £1148 all in.

So who fancies it? I am going to call MRI tomorrow to see if they have estimates of cost which at this stage is unlikely but if they do I will post within this thread

No commitment to come but just want to gauge numbers as when I went in my FocusRS back in 2003 & 2004 we had 16 cars and got a tidy group discount, :beerchug:

Chaps

Any of you fancy this. Its a great event and an even better blast there and back. I've done it several times and last year was no different. Its a mega 4 days away and trust me a proper piss up as well!!! I've just spoken to Motor Racing international and have the following prices assuming 2 people in each car

Folkestone/Calais Eurotunnel crossing on Fri 13 & Monday 16 June
3 nights in campanile Alencon (Inc breakfast)
Travel insurance (optional)
Cost PP for above inc travel insurance £440

I would recommend grandstand seats as well as you have somewhere to pitch up if it pisses down. We had seats at La Gache which is right opposite the pits and is a great view of this and also the start / finish straight, however when I had a walk around at night I sat in the Raccordement stand and this is actually a better view as its on the chicane in to the pits so lots of overtaking and other action. Cost for this inc general admission is £185pp

So total cost assuming travel insurance taken is £625pp

Come on guys we will have a ball and trust me you will so love the drive there and back!!!! :biggrin3:

I NEED TO KNOW VERY SOON IF YOU WANT TO COME ALONG TO THIS AS HOTELS AND GRANDSTAND SEATS ARE GOING LIKE HOT CAKES :bash:

Not leaving until Friday morning?!? F**k that, I'm going down on Tuesday via Eurotunnel, cross country from Rouen (840 and N12 from memory) approaching Le Mans - some of the country roads are to die for. Camping at Tertre Rouge, T34 seats above the pits. 10 of going this time, 5 pitches, 5 cars including a trio of Nissan GTRs.

Can't wait to go.

Answering a question above, yes Phil & I are booked on with 1st Tickets in the PistonHeads camp site. Decided to get pre-erected tents as i'm basically lazy & can't be arsed carrying a load of camping gear across Europe.

Doing the Hull-Zeebrugge overnight love boat so arrive at Le Mans on the Thurs & leave on the Monday. Also booked Tribune T20 Leonard Grandstand seats.

The Pistonheads/1st Tickets setup includes top quality cooked breakfasts & hot dinners for 4 mornings/evenings, 24hr security patrolled site, special guests, dedicated bar with big screens & clean toilet/shower facilities along with free Wi-Fi so everything covered.

Will be my 1st time too so proper excited.

There are 7 of us going for our third trip to LM. We're going out on Friday Morning on the tunnel and coming back Monday morning. Overall this maximizes our time there and minimizes our time away from work and families.

We're also staying in PistonHeads Bleu Nord private site where we stayed last time we went. Great site with great facilities, look out for us, we'll have a C6 RS6 and an A6 biturbo and we'll hopefully be taking glamping further than anyone else in the private site :)
