I believe some specialists will do cover

Unfortunately you may trust yourself but the problem lies in the other twats or oil on the circuit.

Is it a closed track day or TF (Public day- arrive and drive). If its a closed track day you can get cover from most track day insurance companies.

REIS, Greenlight, HIC, MMCBROKINGGROUP, Ryan, herts, Moris are a few. (most of these wont cover for TF).

Its harder to get cover on a TF day, if your car is registered in Germany then you can easily get cover.

If you're insurance excludes the 'ring and the Police check your docs then isn't there a risk for being done for driving without insurance?

I've also heard that insurance companies must cover (3rd party) any public roads.

I'm not sure of the current situation but I don't think it's as clear cut as don't crash and you'll be ok.

it is very clear.

As its a public road in the EU, your insurance must cover you 3rd party.

But if its specifically excluded in your policy then you have breached their terms and so while they will still payout to a 3rd party by law, they will recover costs from you in court.

Cheers.

So if they had spotters there, could they cancel the insurance on the basis that you breached the conditions?
