To anyone attending this event (and any other trackday for that matter) I will be launching my new get rich quick idea

I've installed 2 high definition pencil cameras on my car, I can switch views from front to rear via a switch on the dash. For a small fee I will videotape you and your car in action from behind and in front. If required I can also data log your entire in car telemetry showing g gorce, acceleration, speed, braking etc etc.

Having your own video camera in your car only gets your view, much more fun to record what other people see you do

Thorney,

Is this like Andys tyre company, or a serious idea?

Hi, first post on here, I'm a regular on the TT forum.

I'd like to go! I was supposed to be doing Goodwood in March but it fell through.

Mr Roberts, I sent you an email!

Cheers

Carl.

Thorney,

Is this like Andys tyre company, or a serious idea?

Dunc

Totally serious mate. I must have recorded and seen hundreds of hours of track footage and it actually gets prety boring after a few laps (unless you manage to catch someone else spin in front of you). However most people video their tracks for fun and to get a few good bits to email/post etc.

I rekon there is a reasonable demand for people to actually get footage of THEM driving THEIR car not some boring bonnet shot. Obviously this needs specialist kit so I've invested £££ into two Sony Hi Def pencil lenses which are waterproof and can be mounted anywhere on the outside of the car. Add this to a Sony Mini DV VCR, and a remote switch and you've got the plans for a full range of shots.

The plan would be 10mins where you follow me with my taping you from the front then at an agreed signal you overtake and I switch to taping you from behind (oooer). Any number of overtakes and re-overtakes can be done during the 10min session.

Added to this is the DL90 data logger I've bought. We simply plug this into your car (just needs power from fag lighter) and it logs all g force inlcuding acceleration, braking and cornering G, speed, braking points and pretty much everything. The software allows you to chart and map the whole circuit and you can compare other peoples logs - to finally sort those pub arguments out on who was fastest round a certain corner!

After the 10 mins I either give you the raw footage on the DV tape or transfer it to disk and attach the datalogging upload. To use that all you need to do is download the free viewing software from the manufacturers site.

End result is you get full footage of you driving together with full datalogged performance for your session.

The kit alone costs over £2500 so it aint cheap to set up and some money will go to the track organisor but I reckon its a sound plan. You interested? I'll be at Donny on the 26th for a practice then CC will be my first event.

John

Paid electronically the other day, so hopefully you should be in receipt soon.

I will probably have a passenger, can the indemnity be paid on the day or do I have to cough up front (fine if I do). Do you know how much this costs?

Cheers

Carl.
