So we're expected to pay a premium and book well in advance if we want a better seat? No different than when you book a concert I guess. I'd be happy to contribute to a pot for next time if it meant being closer to the track.

I don't think it's mega bucks, maybe £50 or so from recollection of other events
Therefore, if ten of us stick a fiver in early, we're sorted
I just want to be nearer the coffee/burger van :)

Audi Addicts won best forum comms last year. It was an appalling position to put us.
No matter where you go, there you are.

Was that one of the awards at the Hilton bash ?
Perhaps next year we should book up en mass - in fancy dress :)

Great to meet some of you yesterday. Unfortunately my wife very selfishly had an operation on Friday, so I had to leave very early yesterday to get home and check her commode :-0. However a very enjoyable couple of hours.

I learnt that my car was F**k**g filthy compared to everyone else's.
I learnt about Cupra R splitters!!
I learnt never to ask to listen to a Milltek exhaust, damn, need one
I learnt I need an RS5 exhaust noise, to the exclusion of almost all things
I learnt that at some point in the past someone at RS246.com has upset someone at ADI, and they want us all in the corner, on our own, not seen and not heard
I learnt that Brown is a good interior colour, so there British Leyland
I learnt that at least 2 owners of VW Golfs got Halfords vouchers for Christmas, and spent them when very drunk.
I learnt that I cant decide on Black optics on Mugello
I learnt about big power, manual boxes and facial hair

Great drive home, and brilliantly puzzled look on wife's face when I told her "your car needs a Milltek and a Cupra Splitter love"

Hopefully meet more of you at the next event.

Honestly, you would be bored to tears, the gala dinner is for the uberdooberdoober anoraks, trade people and those that are insomniacs and need a real heavy hitting dose of a sleeping aid. We did it last year, did our best to entertain ourselves but OH MY GOD.

As I said from the beginning, happy to put money in to actually being in the main group of cars but I would rather not have that purple thing with the shopping list down the sides anywhere near me again thanks :D.

From reading other posts didn't we piss off the event organisers in previous years?

I dunno, at least we didn't fall asleep like the person on the table next to us and we didn't do too badly on the quiz...

You would hope thy weren't that petty but there must be a reason. Maybe it's because we have no flags :)

The elderly chap practically having the life force drain out of him at the next table was hilarious but I was jealous of him tbh.

Haha yeah Audi meets are dangerous sometimes!

Wish Kiteral hadn't told me he was keeping up with an R8 V8 in his B8 S4 with the sport diff letting the car four wheel drift with the electronics on.....

Nickys RS5 exhaust isn't factory, but I do agree it sounds absolutely spot on!

Good collection of cars I thought. You know you are in esteemed company when you are the slowest car there. No B5s at all yesterday, sign of the times maybe, the oldest cars present from RS246 were C5 RS6s.

Anyone know if the car that dumped its coolant at the last corner during the joint RS246 and SRS session actually supposed to be part of that session?

I could never dress posh enough for the gala dinner, I wonder what they made of us folk wearing jeans at the Audi showroom? The guys dishing the champers out were actually a good laugh.
I think it is political as to why we are snubbed for the better plots, perhaps they read posts on this site and see we actually have fun as well as being fairly helpful to others. Or, perhaps MrT slept with one of the organisers husband's?

I don't think he was but probably picked up a pass. He's an Audi Addicts admin/founder, I think. I'd still like to know what happened, I was behind him, his car started smoking then the drivetrain looked to have locked up and it spun towards the in-field. Made a mess of the session, we waited an hour to complete the session.
Still, no one hurt so all good.
