Whilst we are on the subject of insurance, over the last couple of days I have been studying not 'laps' of the ring but all of the crashes I could find to see how and where people crash, there seems to be a lot of them at "Adenauer" it does not look much from the clips, although it is downhill...

This one has to be my favourite

I thought people have said that videoing is now not allowed at the ring?... alot of these guys seem to be doing so, hand held!

If you get caught filming they can throw you off and ban you. That's why many are hand held so they can go through the barrier with it hidden. The scary thing is the rule means there's more handhelds which is more dangerous if things go wrong and it all starts flying about.

Have fun guys. I'm gutted I can't join you this time. It's been nearly a year :(

There are a selection of Adenauer Forst moments here from when I went in October. The problem with it is that it comes after a very fast stretch and the approach to the left hander is blind. Luckily there's huge run off there if you go straight on but a lot of BMWs make it round the left hander then oversteered off on the final right hander and into the barriers, not sure if they are showing off to the spectators with a Sabine style drift that goes out of control.

Here's a good example courtesy of an Irish Lexus;

Here's one of us doing it right (Hutch 600bhp MRC RS4 and 4 passengers!)

Incidentally the approach to AF was used as the photo location for EVO21 'Ring Masters' issue with a red B5 RS4 on front cover (facing the wrong way down the track).

I WANT TO GO NOW!

Unfortunately not. We left Antony there to get pictures and he must have taken photos of every car on the ring for that 30-40 minutes, but I don't think you were on then. It was right after the bit of rain we had in the late afternoon. In fact, I don't think there were any other RS246ers on during that time. Shame really.

Nice pic, is that from the approach to Brunchen, the main spectators area?

So how's the trip going NeilMc? Everyone get there OK? Seen anyone famous? Have you been to the Cherry Club yet?
