Perhaps it may be an idea to open it all RS246 members and the first 40 to 'sign up' will get on the front lawn?

+1
+2 (but they better be quick about it)

For those who have already firmly committed and signed up their name to attending the National Meet (i.e. the names above); here's your chance to treat your car to a free detail on the day; courtesy of MJR Valet and Detailing.
The live detailing will also form the basis for a tutorial / Q&A session for those who want to learn more about the finer aspects of bodywork care for their P&J.

All you have to do is guess the answer to the following question:

How many tunes have I got in my iTunes library?

(Apologies for the crapness but I’m hopeless at being creative and this is the closest variation I can get to a 'Guess how many sweets in the jar' type competition! Total pot luck for all so everyone has as much chance as each other.)

Hint: it’s a number between 11,000 and 13,000 and closest answer wins.

To keep this thread on track and avoid filling it with unnecessary posts, please PM me your guess and I’ll collate and post them all after the competition closes.
Final date for entry, lets say 0900hrs GMT Monday 9th July, winner will be announced later that day.
One entry per person.

The only conditions are, Marc has asked that:

The car nominated for the free detailing on the day be fairly dirty so please don’t clean and polish it on the Saturday night before you come along.
The owner is available to turn up fairly early on the Sunday to allow the process to kick off ASAP as it’s fairly time consuming to get through (He will have one of his business partners there too to assist)

Here’s a bit of a run down of the various stages involved in the single day detail:
 Citrus Degreaser applied to lower half of car and rinsed.
 Wheels cleaned using Acid free Wheel Cleaners and various brushes.
 Tyres and arches cleaned using an All Purpose Cleaner (APC).
 Snow foamed and left to dwell to aid removal of road traffic film.
 Washed using Ph Neutral Shampoo's and the Two Bucket Method (TBM) and Lambswool washmitts.
 Chemical Decontamination stage including Tar Remover and Iron-X.
 Rinsed.
 Clay Bar Decontamination to remove any left behind decontaminates from Chemical Stage.
 Dried using ultra plush Microfibre Drying Towels.
 Paintwork Inspection using Swirl finding lighting.
 Delicate trim taped up ready for polishing stage.
 Single Stage Machine polishing using Various grades of Compounds, Polishes & Glazes.
 Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA) wipe down to remove any polishing oils from paintwork.
 Last Stage Protection (LSP) applied.
 Window Rain Repellent applied to all exterior glass surfaces.
 Wheel Protection applied.
 Interior vaccuummed including the boot if empty.
 Upholstery/Leather deep cleaned and protected including Carpets, Mats, Door Trims & Roof Lining.
 Interior Plastics Cleaned and Protected.
 Engine Bay Detail.
 Finishing Touches and Final Inspection.

Depending on how early they are able to start this detail, they will look to get as much as possible completed within the time available (usually looking at around 12 hours on a car the size of a RS4), so it may be that only the exterior is completed but will have to see how things go on the day especially with weather and any time constraints.

Obviously we are very weather dependant as the detail is being carried out onsite – should the heavens open before or during – then its unlikely the work will be completed.

Any questions just post them here and I'll do my best to answer.

Cheers

Pie

I was but then I was midway through doing my own detail when the competition was announced so not much point in me entering as weather being good I hope my car will be done already!

And I didn't enter because A) I'm an organiser, and B) I doubt the guy would want to detail a white car to best show off his skills.
