What time do you reckon you'll be at Grantham for? Can I give my mobile number to the ring leader in case of delays etc?

Here you go...
From South Mimms ~ north alongside the A1 for a couple of quick miles (few hidden turnings to wake us all up).
Then cut-back before joining the A1 again prior to Hatfield /Galleria tunnel (Gonorreah tunnel as us locals call it).

Have just PM'd you. :beerchug:

Ideally drop me a line when you're about 30 mins away as that's how far Grantham is from where I live. PS - won't be on here much for the next week as away on holiday tomorrow until 23rd.

we need to start making concrete arrangements now fellas....do we go for the 9am set off and hope for a sweet journey and meet up points....or nearer 8am and leave ourselves a bit of le-way ...i would go for the latter option maybe setting off from south mimms at half eight, doing the back roads to the hatfield pipe and so on...

Well im up for taking the most direct route, not really bothered about "aspirated" drives. We can have a "play" once in York in the surrounding areas.

Im going to stay off the juice Saturday night for a clear head Sunday morning, so dont really mind on time.

I still say 8.30 for 9.00 am leaving. Still gives us plenty of time (whatever AA online route planning says).

Who's staying Sunday night?

So 8.30 @ South Mimms right?

I've missed out on food and accomodation but may come for the ride.

Think it may be an idea to swap a few mobile numbers, so if people have questions/need to stop etc, we can still keep the convoy roughly together.

I can PM whoever wants mine... and likewise.
I've got Steve_C's number so he can intercept at grantham or wherever.

I know it’s only a guide, but the route planners say almost 4 hours from South Mimms to Malton. Are you guys all happy that leaving at 9am gives enough time….and fingers crossed no holdups?!

That being the case, what time do you reckon you’ll reach Peterborough services? AA route planner says 64 miles (1 hr 10 mins) from South Mimms, but we've already established that the route planners aren't necessarily accurate…so should I be there ready to join the convoy from 9:45 onwards?!

I’d wrongly assumed you could make a quick stop at Peterborough, but from the sound of things I need to join the convoy whilst you’re on the move? In which case I’ll need to swap numbers with a couple of you guys as suggested by Timster so I know when you're getting near...

Timster – will PM you mine & maybe you can do the same. I wouldn’t mind swapping numbers with someone else as well in case of any probs…?

Cheers...Si

Sevy.
Even if it did take 4 hours.... which I'm sure it won't (famous last words).... we'd still be there an hour before the 2pm lunch !

Yes... to the rest.

Ps. I've just booked for Sunday night (Shagga they've still got rooms) :drink:

That'll teach me to read things properly....because we were selecting from the 12:00-2:30 lunch menu I'd assumed that we were aiming to be there for 12. But now I see that one of the original posts on the thread says they could do us lunch for 2ish, so I guess that's what we're aiming for...

Cheers....Si
