Hi everyone - I'm now back from a trip to Asia - and almost over the most weird jetlag I've ever had [try four days waking up at 4am!] ....
So - I've got a bunch of PM's - think there is about 4 or 5 of us plus trups!

I'll do some research tonight and ping you all an email and I might cheekly mention the trip on the other RSx forums

OK - This is a good start! So I am thinking of something like this....

Day one: Meet @ Dover, train to Calais then drive to Nürburgring [around 500KM from Calais] , over night stay local.
Day two: Whole Day @ Nürburgring, over night stay local
Day three: Drive to Black Forest [around 2.5 hrs from Nürburgring] afternoon driving in Black Forest - end up/stop overnight at Tübingen
Day four: Drive to Audi Factory / Museum [around 2.5 hrs from Tübingen], stop over night local
Day five: Drive home at your own pace

I am flexible on dates and I'll need to check factory/museum/ring opening times /schedules ETC
As a starter how about Tue Aug 27th Aug Return Sat 31st Aug? [The week following on from Aug Bank Hol Monday]?

I don't mind taking a week off but am equally at home doing the trip over a long weekend or in reverse ETC ETC

I'd suggest not driving to Dover then trying to get a train to Calais - the trains (eurotunnel) go from Folkstone

that being said it would probably make the first part of the trip quite exciting when you have a Top Gear style challenge to get to the train in time

OK - Guys - I had a few PM's with email addresses - I need to get definite numbers to look into accommodation.

Drop me a note if you want a decent place near the ring. Plenty to choose from mind you and bring mid week it wont be an issue finding something. Me the missis and 2 mates in a 650i convertible will be staying at the casino hotel on the monday night most likely as a tret then moving on to the place refered to above. Give a clear write up about what your proposing day and time wise and everyone can start planning from there.

Do you have a list of must haves for the journey, both legal and good ideas...? If not il pm or post up what we use.

Oh my god guys you have to do this trip. i just spent the weekend in Germany and the B500 just south of Baden Baden on a beautiful sunny Monday morning was the driving highlight of my life haha words dont do the roads and the scenery justice really and it was like they had closed the road for us, it was so quiet. . my mate in his Porker really struggled to keep pace, the grip of the RS was just immense.

ill do a write up when I'm not so tired and hopefully will have some good pictures to post.

ps - my limiter kicked in around 175mph on the Autobahn, wish I had had that removed before I went
