Audi Driver International 2018 (Sat 13th Oct)
Re: Audi Driver International 2018 (Sat 13th Oct)
I'll be there and come over and say hello, we have a small area for A8/S8 drivers, usually facing the back of the Audi stand (far side from the track).
Re: Audi Driver International 2018 (Sat 13th Oct)
Looks like there will be a good attendance. I will be around, mostly looking looking through the lens of my camera.
Anyone going on track?

Re: Audi Driver International 2018 (Sat 13th Oct)
From their website:
Audi Driver International provides the ideal opportunity for Audi enthusiasts to drive their road cars at high speed on the famous Castle Combe race circuit.
As well as the excitement of exploring the full performance potential of your car in a controlled environment, you can also carry a front seat passenger (must be aged 17 or over) to share the experience. Separate track sessions are also available for owners of other Volkswagen Group cars ( VW, SEAT Skoda, Porsche etc )
Many of the specialist tuning companies also offer fast-lap passenger rides around the circuit in their demo cars. Yet to be confirmed, but we usually also have a well-known racing driver giving passenger rides around the circuit.
In addition to the fast-lapping sessions on the track, there are also several dedicated club track sessions, and a low-speed parade lap session at lunchtime for families with children under 17 who aren’t allowed out as passengers on the normal fast laps.
The day finishes at 4.45 – 5.00 pm with a grand parade of club display cars around the circuit.
MORE DETAILS:
All drivers must show a full current driving licence and will be required to sign an indemnity form. They must also attend a driver’s briefing before being allowed on track.
Front seat passengers, aged over 17, are also allowed after signing an indemnity and paying a single £10 admin fee.
All drivers and passengers must wear a crash helmet. Bring your own, or helmets can be hired on the day, subject to a hire fee of £10, plus a refundable deposit.
Sign on at the Admin Centre from 8 am onwards. First driver’s briefing is at 8.30, for track activity to begin at around 9 am. There will then be additional driver’s briefings throughout the day.
A full-day booking provides 6 session tickets (3 morning and 3 afternoon) or book for a half day (3-session tickets) and choose am or pm. Additional single session tickets can be bought on the day. The entry is per car, which can be shared by more than one driver (additional drivers must also sign on, pay a £10 admin charge and attend the driver’s briefing).
Each 20-car track session usually provides 15 minutes flag to flag of circuit time (circumstances permitting). Entrants are expected to queue as necessary to achieve their full entitlement of track sessions.
An advance track entry also entitles the driver to free paddock entry. Track drivers booking on the day, their passengers, and any friends / family / crew in accompanying cars will be asked by Castle Combe gate staff to pay the normal entry fee of £10 per person.
Scrutineering. After signing on, all track vehicles must be sound checked. The noise limit is 100 db(A), measured at 0.5 metre from the exhaust outlet at 4500 rpm.
There is no independent mechanical scrutineering – you are responsible for ensuring that your car is in a suitable condition for circuit driving. Provided that conditions are dry, slick tyres are permitted. All entrants will be subject to strict monitoring of driving standards and we reserve the right to exclude anyone driving in an irresponsible manner.
First-time drivers. Our track days are not just for seasoned specialists, we also encourage first-timers to take part. A comprehensive briefing is given and an instructor is available to give advice and on-track tuition.
Passengers. Front seat passengers are allowed, but must be aged 17 and over. Report to the information desk on the day to complete an indemnity form and pay a single £10 admin fee.
Photography. Official photographer Jim Gaisford is on site throughout the day, taking photos of the cars on track and these are available for viewing at lunchtime in the room adjacent to the Tavern. You can contact him after the event on 01225 743 400 or e-mail: john.gaisford@btinternet.com
Parade laps. Under-17s can only ride as passengers on the special lunchtime parade session, a popular feature for parents with children, treating them to a ride around a real race circuit. Sign on in advance at the Admin Centre on the day. A pass to take part in the lunchtime parade session costs just £10 per car. Note that this pass will also allow you to take part in the grand finale parade laps at 4.45 – 5.00 pm, at no extra charge
Spectators. Spectators are more than welcome. As well as watching the exciting track sessions, some traders with demo cars give passenger rides. There are also trade stands, club displays and a Concours d’Elegance in the main paddock area and café-style catering facilities and toilets on site. Note that Castle Combe makes an entry charge of £10 per person.
We look forward to seeing you there.

Little tip for all the newbies: these sorts of events generally have long queues for drinks so might be worth packing a cool bag with a few of your favourite drinks to save unnecessary queueing up.
And don't forget your cameras.

Yes should be OK, but to save you the hassle you can just turn up when you are ready and tell them you are in the RS246 stand. It'll probably be in the same place as last year (think you briefly came along and spoke to Ian C last year).
Re: Audi Driver International 2018 (Sat 13th Oct)
And I don't think we have any B9s on the stand yet.
