what to do....
what to do....
hi , i hope someone can help me to find out whats wrong .
when im getting past 4000 rpm , its like hes holding down the power . like he hesitate .
now my thought was , that it can be the lambda probe . can it be or something else is going out? (hope not)
anyone know the right values for the lambda?
thanks

Re: what to do....
Could be a number of things, but faulty MAF or EGT(s) are a common cause of power loss. Could also be a boost leak or broken DV I suppose.
Re: what to do....
hi , like u said , it could be many things .
they told me @ audi , it could be the sparkplugs
but i have my doubts about that.
well monday i should get new ones and will see what it does. otherwise the search continues

Re: what to do....
As Kiwi says, could be so many things: air bleeds, DVs, MAF, who knows.
Save your money just replacing things (especially at Audi stealer prices) and take it to a specialist (Unit 20/MRC,etc) - soon.

Re: what to do....
well tomorrow we gonna look further into it. starting with sparkplugs
then fuelpump . those 2 things can do the trick they say
when they scanned the car, there where no faults found on the MAF. thought it was the lambdaprobes , but there good.
just got 2 faultcodes from engine bank one to rich , and engine bank 2 to poor.
hope we find it , otherwise gonna see here in belgium for a specialist .
ill keep it posted

Re: what to do....
Yikes. Would personally go with original Audi parts for the clutch and flywheel unless you are running big tuned power and torque. However I'd be looking at a respected indy like APS, MRC, QST, Unit 20, Russell Automotive, Fontain etc rather than paying Audi £100 + vat per hour for the 6 / 8 hours or whatever the book time is on the B5. Not sure what flywheel the B5 RS4 runs, nor whether you have to replace the flywheel everytime you replace the clutch like you have to on the B6 B7 V8s.

Re: what to do....
hi ,
well the car is standard . so maybe is a oem clutch the best then?
don't think the flywheel is gone , cause it shifts good and so on . but if i go full throttle the rpm goes up like hell and the car isn't moving like it should be
and it smells burnt so not a good sign.

Re: what to do....
On the V8s the flywheel has to be done in tandem with the clutch. I'm sure a B5 owner will be able to confirm whether this is the case on the V6.

Re: what to do....
Clutch is typically 6hrs labour, plus the cost of the parts. The only reason I did mine at 86k was due to the fact the 'box had to come off to get the 1st and 2nd synchros done, so made sense to replace it at the same time.
Flywheel doesn't have to be done at the same time if the current one is OK.
