On starting the car from cold, say the morning. It makes a noise as if a pully of a fan is catching on somthing.
This happens for about a minuet maybe two, then goes away... slightly worrying as it seems to come from the back of the engine.

The other noise is on full lock either way i can hear a squeel/hiss, assume its the power steering pump and is this normal? the steering feels nice and tight and not overly heavy.

Noise is secondary air pump. It's on its way out. Used for cold emissions. Not needed. Get it to MRC or another reputable independant who can remove it and code it out.

Power steering always makes that noise

It's time for a new pump unles your car is modified ... It's easy to replace but they cost a few £££

Thanks for replys, i searched last night and found a video of the exact noise on srs. what kind of money we talking to fix this ? Also could it be damaging anything? thanks chaps Jon

No other damage , it'll take about 1 hour to fit . I think it's about £250 for the pump .
