Voltage regulator

Hi,
For the collective pool of information. 128,000Km and had to replace the voltage regulator in the alternator. Started to show up as occasional voltage indicator dipping to 12 volts occasionally then on the fateful day staying there then dipping below as the battery ran down. Car stopped when it got to 8 volts.
