Noisey starter

i wondering who can help ,on a cold start,for about 60 seconds
my car sounds like a hairdrier with a noise which i can only explain as a blowing sound ,after 60 seconds or so when the rev's settle down its all normal, she runs fine and dandy,,
shes just beenhad a 20k service,rocker gaskets,cambelt and a remap.
any advice please would be gratefull :!:

same problem here but for the last 3 days that noise has disappeard

mines bin for about 2 weeks now ,it come on all of a sudden,it dont sound right when i start it in morn ,my neighbour has a b5 2.6
and that sounds sweet ,a bit enbarrising really,surly its not right !!

tell him it is the oil radiator something :) . funny i was in the same situation and i invented something silly for a neighbor of mine
now seriously, i asked a friend of a friend who is good at mechanics and stuff and he told me it might be the "air pump". it could be he was kidding

next week a i have a service visit scheduled and i will solve this issue aswell and will post here

It will be the secondary airpump. Mine did the same.

it that a major ploblem,big fix,wot sort of money would it cost,could i do it myself?

its nothing to worry about i think it is used to lower the emissions

Yeah its to do with start-up emissions. Just get MRC to disconnect it.

sorted ,a pipe diconected at the back of engine near rocker cover, cheers dave (mrc's)
