Does anyone know how to get the near side headlight washer up without having to operate wiper control stalk on the steering column?
My coloured lid thingy has come off the top & I need to put it back on.
Cheers

It's been a year since I had to do this but I think I got an allen key and hooked it around the bit that pops up and pulled it up that way

i think it can be done by someone operating the washer swuitch while someone else grabs the required one as it pops up and holds it to stop it retracting. that is what I saw audi main dealer do on an A4 I has a few years back anyway.

You can prize them up easily enough.... with some card or masking tape to guard the paint prize the cover up with a thin screwdriver or other suitable thin implement.
In the snow and Ice last year my nearside decided to freeze in the up position down the M6 - for a moment I thought it was broken!

Thanks!
Would Araldite be ok to glue it back on?

i am no expert but on my b5 s4 a few years ago i think i solved the problem of them not working by replacing the headlight washer motor.
located half way down the washer resevoir. If i remember correctly it was a case of taking the road wheel off of the relevant side (whichever the resevoir is on) and removing inner arch so you can get at the motor.
unplug and plug in the new one and there you are.
i am guessing the rs4 will be very similar if not identical.

Right. I glued it back on with Araldite (epoxy resin) & it came loose again when I went to reassemble it again
Maybe I didn't use enough glue. It has held on despite 300 miles of driving (some spirited

) this weekend but I didn't trust it enough to use the headlight washers at speed in case it flew off.
Back to the drawing board...

If I recall correctly I located the cover back onto the lugs (retaining part of cover) held open and araldited in situ no problem
