My coolant temp gauge hardly ever gets to 90. Will normally sit half way between 60 and 90. With the aircon switched off it still wont get to 90 while driving along. The only time it gets to 90 is if i leave it ticking over with the air con switched off. Is this normal. Brian

Before going for thermostat, just make sure it is not the temp sensor that's broken. Way easier (&cheaper).

Just found out that the viscous fan is siezed. Need to change that before looking at something else. Brian

i had the same problem, Grizz did my cambelt last week and now it hits 90 after 5 or so minutes.
Also noticed the oil temp goes a bit higher aswell.
