Andy pls give a report of how that little lot sounds once fitted. Loud/Quiet/boominess at certain revs. Would be interesting to find a cheaper alternative to Milltek.

AFAIK there are two preferred options for gutting the pre-cats:

1) Cutting them in two at the top weld, removing the cats in one go, then re-welding: http://www.rs246.com/index.php?name=PNp ... ight=auger

2) Get a massive auger drill bit and destroy the cat into smallish bits and remove: http://www.rs246.com/index.php?name=PNp ... ight=auger

How easy is it to get the downpipes off to do this?

Hope the Scorpion fits ok. From experience with Scorpion exhausts on Fords, customer service is non existent. They are only interested in selling stuff.

I would not entertain buying a Scorpion again. My mechanic who used to install Scorpions quickly dumped them in favour of Mongoose due to warranty migraines.

I have just unwrapped the exhaust, there are two dents in a couple of the pipes, nothing major...but will this effect performance???

Cheers Andy

Can any one shed any light on the impact of a dent in the exhaust on performance??? I supposed to be fitting it tonight but I don't want to if it is going to cause issues.

Cheers in advance guys

how big are the dents ? if are quite big and deep it will act as a resticion at high rpm (post a pic with something along side for size ref)

Not bad at all, my mechanic mate told me i was being a wanker for even asking the question, so that puts me in my place.

Sort of answer id expect from a numpty exhaust fitter, honestly though the dent will affect the flow so im not so sure if it wont affect perfomance, afterall didnt you pay for a perfect one?

Just an update...

The exhaust is on, and i'm well happy with it, tbf it does drone somewhat between 2-3000 rpm, the performance is a load better... all in all £400 well spent.
