I haven't found out what it controls. It clicks unsystematickly, but only when the car is moving and not when accelerating or braking. It never clicks when the engine is pulling the car as when driving up hill. But if I press down the clutch while moving or let go of the accelerator, or just keeping a steady speed on a flat road, it starts clicking.
The relay does not click when pressing the brake paddle either. This is more consistant with just a light pressure on the paddle will make the relay stable.
It dosen't matter what lights are on, if I am using the cruisecontrol or anything else. And I don't think its a loose connection as it doesn't matter if I am turning quickly back and forth.
Anybody got a clue what relay it might be?
It's a bit hard to locate as the car has to be moving and the relay is about behind the steeringwheel.
Relay clicking without following faults
RE: Relay clicking without following faults
I would be interested in the answer to this - definitely got a relay clicking from the brake pedal as it goes away wiht light pressure.
Anyone?
Anyone?

I am getting exactly the same thing from my acceleartor. Up to 2,000 rpm it clicks every time you accelerate or deccelerate? It is a very distinct relay click as mentioned...

RE: Relay clicking without following faults
iirc there are a few relays to the right of the steering wheel just above the little cubby hole, if its around there im sure a process of elimination of what those relays do.
It may sound silly but its not your keys knocking on the steering cowling? (just a thought)

RE: Relay clicking without following faults
Has anyone got a list over relays and function of them?
I have a degree in electronics and knows how a relay sounds like
And I don't have any keys attached to the carkeys, so that is one possibility being eliminated..
