Where is the best place for insurance on an rs4? Are there specialist companies who deal with cars like this? Are there any mod friendly insurers out there? Best price i've had is £1300 standard is this good?

Try Bell insurance. I got the RS insured Fc and protected for £328

jesus thats cheap!!!! i wish i could get insurance at that price.

Sorry forgot to mention they loaded another £180 when I declared the mods so £505 in total 40 year old with 9 years NCB

Sky Insurance - mod friendly...

i went with sky insurance. £440 all mods declared (and like for like replacement) full no claims.

what are the chances of me gettign insured for under a £1000, im 23 no no claims and a ban for totting up? or should i just be happy getting insurance? either way i have to have an rs because im fed up with imprezas and my s3 was good but i want something i can keep and really enjoy and the rs fits the bill.

Think of it this way - if you owned an Insurance company, how much would you charge someone with your background ? I'm surprised you got a quote as low as £1300 tbh.

Most insurance companies I encountered wouldn't insure me unless I was...

a. 25 and
b. Had 2 years no claims

...due to the car I was trying to insure.

Im able to get that sort of quote on an rs, and i get quotes of £4-5k for an impreza, there seems to be no logic to some of the quotes, i'd be happy to pay anything to be able to own an rs, but it would be nice to not have to pay through the nose for it.

These quotes where from gocompare, and they chaarge commission, so going direct to a company could hopefully save me some money, or at least i hope so.

If you do get savings you will do well to get some speed camera/radar detection equipment.

Not being funny but an RS wont help your points situation. When the red mist comes down you will be breaking the speed limit in no time and by quite some, standard or not..

IMO I wouldn't use gocompare as they are too commercial and the qutoes they come back with are crap compared to going direct. Have you tried adrian flux or noel dazely? they are very good when it comes to S & RS models with all mods declared etc....

But i think it's going to hard for you with your circumstances(age, ban no no-claims) So agree with what you said previously "be happy just to get insurance" Good Luck m8...

lol good point, i think thats the best suggestion for a while, speeding is not really a problem for me to be honest, but with the ease in which the rs will gather speed i can understand the need for such a device.
