Power differences. Crazy high outputs around here.

Lately I've been thinking - how on earth do you guys achieve so high outputs with so little mods?

I keep on reading how remap and catback with gutted precats gives you 440-450 hp. But how?

Here in Poland I know a couple of B5s that have been checked at dyno and OEM output is usually at around 330-360 hp.

My car with a remap showed 398 hp, when it should be at around 420 at so called Stg 1.

It is still really fast and I can race e92 M3s and B7 RS4s and win.

One company in Poland is working on a project than consists of FMIC, K04 Hybrids, custom 2.5" exhaust, custom 3" downpipe, K&N Intake, custom remap and it all gave just a bit above 435 hp, please see pics of the car and dyno slip below:

So why so much difference? Is it something with different dyno setup? I just don't get it. Above car measured on your dynos would probably show 470-480 hp....

Please let me know what you think...

Is it because the figures your talking about are at the wheels?
From reading on here over past year I think the '460' hp ones make about 390-400 on the dyno, allowing for the losses. Someone with MUCH more knowledge and experience in RR's may correct...
435 seems really low for that spec unless at the wheels...

Perhaps the fuel in Poland is a lower grade than the stuff we get here in the UK.

a lot depends on the mapping. what boost and timing is that car running and like scott above said what quality is the fuel over there :nogarors4:
