10mm will be just fine. You can get away with 15mm if on stock suspension

Could someone explain to me why spacers are so hideously expensive please?

Can I not just get a set machined to suit and then buy adequate bolts?

Try ESP. Basically you pay for what you get – from my experience!!!

Or I have a set of 15mm H&R for sale

I disagree, 2 well turned pieces of ali around 15mm thick should be a damn site cheaper than the price of the H&R spacers. Hubcentric only means they're the correct size for the hub and the wheel and don't put undue stress on the bolts. Its no more special than that.
