central locking/alarm

Alarm has never worked on car since i bought it,so today i decided to try and get it to work,so i pressed the button on the door pillar,let it flash but the diodes did not work near the door knobs,so i locked the car and opened it up with the key and now only the drivers door will open.So the central locking will not work at all,and the key will only open the drivers door,even turning ignition on thinking it would reset it doesnt.Anybody any ideas what ive done?and how to fix it? Thanks
