NEW RS4 OWNER
NEW RS4 OWNER
Hello all
I have browsed the forum here for quite some time, just feeding off you guys for info and tips, but until now never posted any threads.
But after waiting for 8 years i am now the very proud owner of an RS4! I picked up my dream motor on Saturday and i am completely over the moon with it, well worth the wait! i wont bore u with my childish excitment any longer, but will no doubt have many questions about various things to ask u guys.
Regards, Mike

Pics are on the way. The car is a 2001, in Avus silver ( excellent condition) , its got 68,000 miles on the clock. full black leather and carbon interior, with the sat nav plus trimmings. As far as the engine goes its a standard 380 bhp, and as i speak the car is having some work done at Audi (after reading the thread on the joys of owning an RS4 i'm already feeling intiated in growing deep pockets!), cam chain tensioners needed changing, cam belt and water pump pullies changed while they're down there, and a decent wheel alignment and balance. But apart from that the car passed the health check. picking it back up tomorrow, with the peace of mind the car is in good order, even if i'm a couple of quid lighter! oh the joy.
And in the not to distant future its gonna need new front discs and pads, so if anyone can point me in the right direction for those it would be appreciated.

My advice would be to get the geometry work carried out at a specialist like www.autops.co.uk rather than a main dealer. Not only will it be significantly cheaper but they will set it up properly!

2nd all the comments above - wouldn't take mine anywhere near the Audi dealers... the last time I went to the one in York the workshop came out to look as "we've not seen one of those for Ages"... Which tends to tell you that they miss stuff that will happen shortly.
APS is definitely recommended - and they'll give you advanced warning of the money reducing items that will come up. Also B7 brakes are so much better than the standard ones like Graemep said.
Enjoy though...!
