Using 15mm spacers on an RS4

Hi all, I've just bought my first RS4 and am already eyeing up new wheels. Loads of the wheels that take my fancy are ET35 which would require 15mm spacers.

Q.Will the 15mm spacers be okay to use as they sound massive and would these large spacers cause any problems ie balance of the car and safety??

I spoke to the local stealer and they said don't use such large spacers on an RS4 – is this correct.
Cheers
Rob

Dotz Mugello look cool, i have the roadsters on my S4 and personally think they look fantastic – i've changed the centre colour to matt silver plus smoothed the surface texture.

I would love to use these on the RS but they are only 8x19 not 8.5x19 which is too narrow – isn't it???

Where you get your 20mm spacers from MK - I need to move up from 15mm on mine ;-)
I've been searching for 20mm hubscentric kits for a while and not managed to find anything.
TIA GUY

Anyone got any suggestions on where to get longer bolts (incl locking ones) for my 15mm spacers?

Ebay is your friend for the longer bolts (you usually get them with the spacers) - I looked for ages for the right lockers at the right price and I neded up speaking to a company called Grayson Engineering http://www.grayston.biz/ - That sell locking kits with this 14mm x 1.5 60mm 60 degree taper (Ref LB162) - and I just cut them down to size and polished the ends. I got a set of lockers for about £30 delivered.

Just answering my own post but there are several sellers now selling the 20mm spacer kits on ebay as well - now just to find the right price!

Can we also get some suggestions from people about which brand spacers to consider and where to get them from? Links would be appreciated. :D

H&R spacers have been recommended before... http://www.performancealloys.com/alloy_ ... ers.aspbutthey aren't that cheap at £99 a pair roughly. I think as long as they are cast alloy and are hubscentric you can't go wrong with picking a cheaper alternative. - Just search on ebay for the 57.2mm centrebore Audi 5 x 112 spacers....(can't give you a link as the bay is banned in the office) bear in mind that some of the kits are only pairs of spacers. - But I would think a good deal price is about £40 mark a pair.

Hi! Unfortunately, I got them from ebay.de ... that was an auction of two 20mm spacers (made by MTM) but I think www.ebay.de is full of 40mm spacer kits (just search with 40mm not 20mm)

Cheers...... by my reckoning

Std RS4 wheel bolts are:-
8D0 601 139 D
M14 x 1.5 x 27

So for 15mm spacers I need bolts to this spec:-
Bolt Head: 17mm hex head
Thread Length: 42mm (i.e. 15mm longer than std spec of 27mm)
Thread Spec: M14mm x 1.5mm
Bolt Length:60mm appx
Seat type: ?? 60 degree taper, Radius, Ball Seat

I'm a bit confused by the seat type, as various sites I've googled with the part number, state its a Ball seat type, however other sites refer to it as a taper seat type....
Anyone care to confirm?
