My drivers seat is certainly quite stiff to move forwards and backwards...

I'm not sure TBH - I've always just taken it as that is the way it is, put it down to how the seat sits on the runner or whatever
Doesn't bother me that much though as I'm not moving my seat that often - neither is my missus

Used to think the same, but when my car was at the stealers at MOT time the seat suddenly became much easier to move.

I can only guess that their driver was shorter than me and struggled to move the seat forward, so they greased the runners - something I had considered doing. Was just surprised they didn't try to charge me for it..

This is a good point about the seats. Not so bad when you're sitting in and moving them, but the passenger one is awkward to move forward standing next to it, for when I have the kids in the back. Be interested to know if they can be loosened up a bit.

So presumably you can remove the wooden wedge from underneath the seat then ?

I never realised this was a common issue. I bought a set of RS4 seats for my S4. Both original seats moved back/forwards with no effort.

Since fitting the RS4 seats, it's been a chore. Especially the passenger side. I've tried greasing the runners, but I still have to push on the back of the seat when my girlfriend is trying to move it forwards.

'Glad' it's not just me.

In the words of an old neighbour of mine - "Precision engineering? My a***!"

Had two RS4's now- both stiff to move passenger more so than driver- may have something to do with frequency of movement or with the sheer weight of the seats- most electric seats have electric fore and aft adjustment rather than our manual set-up. And jimbo I hear you on the missus issue!!

I think the seat issue has been done to death now!

So to answer your other Q, yes B7 wheels can be fitted, but with different tyre size to the B7; 265/30/19, and also ideally with 15mm spacers to make them sit right.
