Rolling Road result

Post by jeffw » Sat Feb 02, 2008 12:29 pm

So, I took the mushy pea express down to Sussex Performance Car RR to have a go on the rollers with the Saab boys & girls.

The car in front on mine didn't make the power it was mean't too and was put into the workshop....mine was next and after three runs it made

399.6 BHP
401 ft/lb

I was stunned....asked if that was wheel HP and was told it was flywheel. I only have a graph and no detail sheet show wheel HP.

The next car was a S4 with a remap which made 244 !

I think they have completely cocked it up and the figures are wheel not flywheel ...

I'm a little annoyed now at £35 and 45 miles each way.

Of those people who have driven or been in my car do you think it only makes 400BHP ?????

Yikes, power is poor but torque is not too bad. Sounds like they had it in the wrong mode for sure.

Have you got any FATS times for it Jeff ?

what type of rolling road was it?

i stuck mine on a dyno dynamics 4WD and AWD rolling road (www.dynodemon.co.uk) which are suppose to be very accurate.

No Duncan hasn't sold me a lemon....The car is certainly more than 400BHP and indeed more than 500BHP. The RR must be wrong.

A badly running S4, even mapped, could do that. WHat make of dyno and have you got a dyno plot? The last dyno plot i have for this car was january 2006 and it was 518bhp with 210bhp wheel losses.
