Questions about BBS LM’s on a B5 RS4.

Post by Silversea » Sat Dec 01, 2007 9:08 pm

I’m looking for some advice with regards to fitting 9.5x19” (Et32) BBS LM’s with 265x30x19” tyre’s to a B5 RS4.
Does anyone know if there are any issues with running this combo i.e. buffing etc? I understand that with this off-set spacers would be recommended to pull the wheel out, would 10mm be okay?
Also plan on fitting 380mm Mov’it’s or the like to the front, is there any clearance issues with the inner spokes and the caliper???
What’s the general consensus with this wheel width / tyre combo?

Thanks in advance!
Des.

10mm spacers would be sufficient IMO.

And the tyre size is what is recommended, and to keep the rolling circumference as close as.

You shouldn't have any issues with rubbing, etc.

Can't answer your question re; the brakes.

Edited to say with the LM's ET32 they should look in the same way as your stock wheels. 10mm spacers would bring them out further, and look better IMHO, hence the comment above

Completely agree with R33V-Spec, your wheel & tyre combe are exactly what I'm planning on doing at some point in the future.

Post some pics when it's done.

Red Rocket, just had a look. Your car looks stunning with the LM's on  The GT's also look good but prefer the LM's.
Was your car at GTi International this year?? If not, there was a very similar looking Avant with GT's on in the concours (Looked mint bar the ding on the tailgate)

Thanks!

Yes that was mine, removed the LM's from the car as they were buckled and after the brake upgrade the original offset on the wheels messed up the ride and started to touch the arches. Then they were stolen from where i had them stored. Now the GT's are nice wheels helps to cool the brakes but LM's were more classier but easy to buckle on loondon roads..

Can I ask what brake upgrade you had fitted and how you felt that it affected the ride? Would be looking to upgrade the brakes and this was one of my initial concerns that the brake kit and wheels might cause problems.

In terms of ride quality it became very harsh due to the low profile tyres and the handling did get better. The brake set-up is the full B7 set-up.

Ah, I'm with you.
Are your GT's 8.5" rather than 9.5"?

new here, just saw your post now, I don't have the bbs lm's, but own the Sportec 19" * 8.5 and mov'it 6 calipers, the rims are with a 15mm spacers, works perfect. I can't tell you if my brakes are 380mm, but I know they work perfect with my winter wheels, the originals 18" ...
