In my opinion, the most important thing before you 'chip' the car is to make sure it's running 100% and I'm not sure Superchips know these cars well enough to know what to look for.

Also, if you plan on going beyond stage 1, then a custom chip is recommended, and once again, I'm not sure Superchips have enough experience with this engine.

I'm not taking anything away from Superchips, as I use them for all my 'normal' cars, but the RS is not normal by any means.

Superchips is fine for normal applications like Nige has said.

RS4's and S4's alike have lots of parametres to take into consideration. I doubt superchips have studied the safety ones in any great detail.

Id stick with a reliable specialist custom remap or even a well known Generic one like MTM or SKN.

My RS4 had a superchip from almost new carried out by David Underwood http://www.swiftsperformance.co.uk/ - I've driven a few 'mapped' cars and many standard ones before I bought it, it does feel more responsive through the rev range but I must admit I will be opting for custom map when I've stopped spending money on other modifications.... and got my mits on a set of Millteks as well!

If you are remotly local, why don't you pop along to Thorney Motorsport in Milton keynes this Saturday? See the thread in the events section. According to Thorney's post, someone from Superchips will be attending.

There will be lots of modified S4 and RS4s there and maybe you will be able to quiz owners and someone from superchips on what they can do.
