@S2 Tuner - Rev Limiter

Does my MRC Custom re-map still have a rev limiter? When giving it a "run out" I noticed a couple of times the rev counter go up to over 7500 rpm (by accident) when not clocking the rev counter quick enough.

Obviously, I don't want to damage the Engine by not paying attention. I know, I know, I should be able to tell by ear now but it's only in the lower gears when it just goes up so quickly :)

Anyone else's do this?

Yep, fear not. I think all the B5 cars do it, mine goes to 7800 on the rev counter but its not accurate as VAG-COM says it only every get 7220. My limiter is 7200.

I'm sure an MRC person will verify this for you :)

Had the same fear when I had the MRC400...couldn't find the limiter where I thought it should be and worried I'd blow the thing up!! Needless to say once I got used to the upgrade and stopped worrying I soon found that it had one, higher than I thought it'd be :D

Norman, your rev limiter is set at 7200, pretty much a default for my RS4 maps... so no worries, it is still there ;)

And rev counters aren't accurate at all past 7k, my own S4 revs up to 7800 according to the dials, but it is at 7400 and no higher, plus it's a hard cut so it rarely goes above 7400, maybe 7420 but that's it. Stage 3 S4s are also pretty much default at 7200. ;)

HTH,

Mihnea
