Michelin pilot cups, a semi slick tyre

. Amazing on track once up to temperature. These are road legal although i would advise against using them as an everyday tyre (especially in the wet!) but they will get you to and from the track.
Michelin Ps2s a great all rounder IMO, although i've only had experience with the original Dunlops on the RS4
I have used Toyo proxes t1-s on track in a clio, these are very good in the dry and very cheap, i think some of the guys on here use them on track.
Have you ever considered a spare set of wheels with track tyres on? Sling them in the boot for the road then get the girlfriend/wife/kids to swap them over at the track.

(make sure they jack the car up before taking the wheel bolts out though!)
Hope that helps
Cheers
