K&N, is it worth it?

The local Audi people don't service K&N filters so I have changed back to genuine. I am not sure if K&N makes any difference. My only problem is that lately I cant get better than 5.7s for 0-100. Although the tempreture is getting higher, about 24 degrees in Sydney. When I did 5.2 it was in Melbourne and 14 degrees only.

You don't need K&N but better engine management, 5.XX is

What size turbos do you have in that puppy. List out what you've done, i'm keen to hear!!

Dog, how are you measuring your 0>100 ?

With a G-tech.
I can't make it go any faster than 5.2. But I do not sidestep the clutch either. Any suggestions about take off technics are welcome.

Well i've fitted a K&N Filter to my S2 and i'm well pleased with it.There is a definate improvement in throttle response and a slight improvement in fuel consumption too

Is that a panel filter or Induction cone thing. because i thought there were problems with heat from turbo ?
is this the same with s4's rs4's etc ?

Dog,

The S4/S4 ECU works rather differently from many other Audi turbos. Located at the throttle body is a pressure sensor. The ECU uses this to sensor (amongst others) to control the wastegates in order to achieve exactly the demanded boost. So unless your car is modified such that the turbos are stuggling to achieve the demanded boost (in which case you'd probably be risking the engine!), there is no performance advantage of increasing induction airflow rate. I would agree that it could give a reliability advantage, unless of course the filter is oiled, which increases the risk of MAF contamination.

We use the panels in the RS4. The Induction kits will suffer from the underbonnet heat.
